After a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, 5 years as a health coach, and practicing Naturopathic Medicine for over 16 years, I’ve learned a few things about the human body and behavior:
1. People basically just want to be heard. They want to be listened to - especially when speaking to someone who is in a position to help them.
2. Most patients typically fall into three groups = they instinctually know what they need to do and just want confirmation and accountability, are so turned around by seeing multiple doctors they don’t know what to do, or are some combination of both.
3. The body has an inherent drive to stay as alive and vital as possible. Time and time again, after removing the obstacle to cure & restoring balance, I’ve seen the system turn around on its own. Often other seemingly unconnected symptoms also improve or disappear.
4. People tend to slide back into old habits once they start feeling better (no guilt or shame = it’s a natural tendency of human behavior). It typically takes 6-8 months to identify the core underlying cause, restore balance, and then create & maintain sustainable supportive lifestyle habits.
5. Rushing or stopping the process usually results in “bounce-back” – where the patient returns back to their original state of (imbalanced) wellness and they’ve got to start all over. If you want the body to create new processes for lasting results, Patience and Consistency are key.
6. My end goal is to teach you. To help you understand signs of imbalance that your body is showing, so you can continue to make educated choices for your future. In my practice, graduation is a good day.
